About The Project

This study is being conducted as part of my PhD Thesis in the School of Medicine, University of St Andrews and in collaboration with Fife Sports and Leisure Trust.

What Is It About?

We invite you to participate in a research project exploring the experiences of under-65’s after a heart attack. We are interested in how people are finding life after a heart attack and how it has been to make and maintain any changes such as to diet or exercise, including cardiac rehabilitation. With this information, we might be able to identify ways to improve the cardiac rehabilitation process.

We would love to hear from you if you are under 65 years of age, have had a heart attack in the last 5 years and would consider talking to us about your experiences, regardless of whether you have had any cardiac rehabilitation or not

What Would I Need To Do?

If you chose to take part in the project, we would like to interview you about your experiences. This would take place over the phone, the internet or somewhere convenient for you and could take up to an hour (approximately). This would be audio recorded; however any information you provide will be anonymous and held confidentially by the researcher and supervisor involved in this project.

Before agreeing to participate in this research you will be given a Participant Information Sheet that will further detail the research and data protection procedures involved.
